Metallic epoxy floors start with the same installation as any other epoxy flooring solution with preparing the surface for the epoxy. All cracks and chips are fixed for an even surface for a smooth epoxy installation. Preparation includes cleaning the concrete thoroughly and grinding it down to create a more porous surface that can create a superior bond for the epoxy. After the surface is fully prepared and the primer has been applied, the mixing begins for the epoxy. Epoxy resin, a chemical hardener, and metallic pigments are mixed together for this beautiful flooring. Once mixed, the solution is applied using squeegees for an even coat. Multiple layers will be applied for the desired thickness and then the flooring is allowed to cure. Cure time for this flooring can take 24-72 hours before it is ready to be walked or parked on.
